When his diary account was published, one week was missing. This is the story of that week: an idyll in which he escorted a Monroe desperate to get away from Hollywood hangers-on and the pressures of work.

An evolutionary zoologist discovers prehistoric creatures alive and well in the present day. Unexplained anomalies are ripping holes in the fabric of time, allowing dinosaurs to escape the past and roam the modern world.

When a giant spider attacks on the London Underground, Cutter's team descends into the maze of tunnels to investigate. However, there are more than spiders lurking in the darkness and soon the team comes face to face with an even more ferocious predator.

Cutter's research leads to a prediction about where the next anomaly will appear. But when Jenny, Connor and Abby check out the location, all they find is an abandoned house. They wait to see if an anomaly will appear, but get more than they bargained for when they discover a camouflage beast from the future is living in the house. They also have to deal with a cop, Danny Quinn, who takes an instant dislike to them.

Some cute but surprisingly dangerous burrowing creatures called Diictodons nearly cause a disaster at a hospital when an anomaly opens from the Permian era. Calamity is averted by the team, which manages to get the creatures back to their own time while simultaneously delivering a human baby. Meanwhile, Helen and her army of Cleaner Replicas attack the ARC.

A herd of Embolotherium comes through an anomaly at an off-road motor course. The team arrives, but these seven ton rhinoceros like beasts from the Eocene era do not budge easily. The pressure is on to lure the lumbering creatures back through the anomaly without causing a stampede or being crushed in the process. Danny finally arrives, with Eve, a mysterious woman from the future.

A golfer is killed by a huge winged dinosaur and the team argues over whether to kill it or send it back to the past. When Connor and Abby trek into the forest to find Rex, they quickly learn that the winged creature did not come alone.

Connor unveils the new anomaly detector, but the team is caught off-guard when a saber-toothed cat is seen roaming around a theme park. When a man snaps a few pictures of the beast and uploads them to the internet, Jenny must deal with the media fall-out.

An eleven-year-old girl goes missing after she stumbles through an anomaly. Cutter and Stephen go through to find her, but when the anomaly closes they must brave the heat and the giant sand-dwelling crabs to discover another way back.

A flock of dodos comes through the anomaly and the docile birds bring a deadly parasite with them. Connor's suspicious friends tail him and steal one of the dodos, but when one of them is bitten, they must find him before he can infect anyone else.
