Nadine Wondem

Just Like Frida is Nadine Shillingford Wondem's recreation of a photograph of artist Frida Kahlo in a checkered dress with signature flowers in her hair. Wondem used her 14-year-old daughter as the subject. She explains, "Ilove representing people of color in my art. I believe it empowers young children especially to know that an artist appreciated their likeness enough to portray them."
