With Millionaire Women Next Door , he now focuses on one of the least understood but increasingly rich demographics. "Why write another book that profiles millionaires?" Stanley asks. "The vast majority of the millionaire respondents (92 percent) in The Millionaire Next Door were men............ I felt that it was indeed time for successful businesswomen of the self-made variety to be heard." And heard they are in this book that is every bit as informative and inspirational as the author's earlier works. When Dr. Thomas J. Stanley wrote his groundbreaking best-seller The Millionaire Next Door, he abolished some long-standing myths about America's wealthy—and how they became that way. Now, the country's foremost expert on the wealthy has written a book focusing on a subset of the wealthy that is still very little understood—millionaire women.

"Why write another book that profiles millionaires?" Stanley asks. The answer is simple. Most of the millionaires he interviewed for The Millionaire Next Door—a solid 92%—were men. This book brings an expert and thoroughly-researched perspective to the qualities that make self-made wealthy women so successful. It examines the habits, traits, lifestyles, and choices that have made these women what they are today—in a fascinating narrative that's sure to inspire male and female readers alike.

Formerly a professor of marketing at Georgia State University, Dr. Stanley spent approximately 20 years interviewing America's wealthy, starting in 1973—and focusing on people with a net worth of at least $1 million. He is now considered one of the country's foremost experts on the habits, traits, and culture of the wealthy.

His first book, Marketing to the Affluent, was chosen as a Top 10 Outstanding Business Book by the editors of Best of Business Quarterly. He achieved popular acclaim with The Millionaire Next Door—selling over 2 million copies. In total, Dr. Stanley's books have spent over 170 weeks on the New York Times Bestseller list.

Dr. Stanley holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Georgia in Athens. He currently lives in Atlanta.
