Description
After the death of his mother, twelve-year-old Roddie Bolden is taken in by his aunt Angie and they move to Dogwood House, a dilapidated family mansion in South Carolina. There Angie intends to reconnect with the family's hoodoo roots. Though Roddie is happy to be out of the orphanage, he becomes increasingly disturbed by the home itself, which appears to be connected to a hoodoo legend about an evil monster that feeds upon people's shed hair. To make sense of what is happening around him, Roddie digs deep in the hoodoo culture and discovers secrets buried in the house that are reaching out to him.
