Notes

Description
When deaf and hard of hearing people communicate with each other, they use strategies that make sense visually. This material presents some of the differences encountered when communicating in a way that makes visual sense -- things that differ when one is trying to make sense in spoken English. The goal is to assist in communicating more effectively with a deaf or hard of hearing child regardless of communication methodology used. A section explaining and demonstrating very clearly some properties of American Sign Language is included. An accompanying booklet is available and is recommended.
