Scope and content: The collection consists of approximately .75 cubic feet of clippings, compact discs, ephemera, general information, and publications relating to the Tennessee Players, Inc. and dating from 1986 to 2008. The majority of the collection consists of ephemera from various Tennessee Players productions, including programs, bookmarks, postcards, and posters. The most heavily represented production is Words of Albert Schweitzer and the Music of Bach. Seven issues of the publication Spotlight on the Arts are also included in the collection.

Series I. Clippings, 1988-1999 and n.d., 4 items: Consists of scanned and printed newspaper clippings about the Tennessee Players and some of their productions. Arranged chronologically.

Series II. Compact Discs, 1991-2007, 13 items: Consists of CDs of Tennessee Players productions. Arranged alphabetically by title.

Series III. Ephemera, 1986-2005 and n.d., 78 items: Consists of programs, flyers, postcards, and posters relating to Tennessee Players productions. Arranged alphabetically by title, then chronologically.

Series IV. General Information, 2008 and n.d., 15 items: Consists of notes from Thurston Moore about the collection as well as historical information about the Tennessee Players. Arranged chronologically.

Series V. Publications, May 1987-1988, 7 items: Consists of 7 issues of the publication Spotlight on the Arts. Arranged chronologically.

The Tennessee Players, Inc., a non-profit arts organization, was co-founded by Kentucky natives and husband and wife team Thurston and Georgianna Moore (1927-2002) in 1986. Georgianna served as principal director for all of the Players' productions, many of which were conceived, written, and produced by Thurston. The company has presented productions throughout Middle Tennessee and neighboring states, and their production of Words of Albert Schweitzer and Music of Bach has been presented more than 100 times throughout the United States and abroad. The Tennessee Players' motto is: "To create something beautiful for somebody else."
