This series of practice and instructional DVDs is designed to assist viewers in improving their fingerspelling production and comprehension. Each unit contains two instructional practice sections and a self-correcting comprehension test: Subjective Perspective Section: Items for this section have been specially taped as it appears to the fingerspeller. Viewers can imitate several fingerspelling rates, rhythms, and styles. Conversational Perspective Section: Items for this section have been specially taped as it appears to a conversational participant (at different angles.) Self assessment section: This section allows viewers to check their fingerspelling comprehension by taking a forty-item multiple choice test. For each item the vieweris presented with a written question. Three possible fingerspelled answers follow. After a brief period, the question and correct answer are displayed. The Four DVDs in this series are: Proper Names; Miscellaneous Items; Geograpic Locations; and Fingerspelled Loan Signs.
