Description
Scope and content: Includes programs, brochures, reports, self-guided tours, a few building plans, and other documents concerning individual buildings in Nashville, spanning from 1902 to 2010. Some buildings are noted as tourist attractions, and their documentation is primarily in the format of tourist-oriented brochures. Quantity of materials ranges from a single item to several folders. Most folders contain less than five items, and often only a single item. Some items are photocopies.
Description
Of special note among the materials are an architect's proposal, including renderings and specifications, for Capital City Towers, a commercial office building, to be built on the southeast corner of Union and 6th Ave. N. circa 1984; a claim for damages to the Davidson County courthouse filed against the U.S government for damages sustained during the Civil War, 1905; a detailed report from the Municipal Auditorium Commission, 1946; information about murals at the Sevier State Office Building, the State Capitol, and the Davidson County Courthouse; and plans for the YMCA building, 1909.
