Description
A baby harp seal is used to cold. After all, it is born on ice in one of the coldest places on Earth--the Arctic. Fortunately, the pup's mom takes good care of her baby--for a short time. She keeps the pup close by and nurses if with very rich milk that helps the pup quickly grow a layer of fat to keep it warm. After about 12 days, however, the mother leaves the baby. Look inside to find out how these seal pups survive in their frozen Arctic world.
