Scope and content: A variety of materials about Nashville museums, 1951-2012, (bulk 1975-2012). Items consist of brochures; museum maps; exhibit and activities calendars; invitations and programs from groundbreakings, dedications, exhibit openings, or special events; and teacher's and visitors' guides. Quantity of materials ranges from a single item to several folders. Most folders contain less than eight items, and often only a single item. Contains some photocopies.
Description
Notable materials include a booklet describing the Bahama Reef Expedition of the Nashville Children's Museum; numerous materials relating to the Country Music Hall of Fame at both its new and old locations, including guidebooks and brochures, lists of individuals inducted into the Hall and a few induction programs; flyers promoting excursion trains sponsored by the Tennessee Central Railway Museum; and a variety of items produced by the Tennessee State Museum, including materials relating to their move to the James K. Polk Building in 1981.
