Scope and content: A small quantity of materials relating to postal and monetary history in Nashville and Tennessee.
Description
Materials include: A booklet about the first trip of the Highway Post Office from Nashville to Jackson, Tenn. (1949) which includes additional information about Nashville's postal history; an unopened envelope with cancellation marking the first air mail flight from Nashville, Tenn. to Ft. Worth, Tex. (1931); and three articles from the magazine Paper Money by Charles A. Dean about Nashville bank notes, and notes from the First National Bank of Cardiff, Tenn. and of Smyrna, Tenn. (1996, 1997).
