Description
Scope and content: Slightly over one month after the East Nashville tornado of March 14, 1933, Robert M. Williamson of the U.S. Weather Bureau in Nashville, Tenn. presented this paper before the Tennessee Academy of Science meeting on April 28, 1933. Subsequently, it was published in the Journal of the Tennessee Academy of Science in July 1933.
Description
Materials consist of the published issue of the journal; a typescript of Williamson's speech; photographs showing damage from the tornado, including damage at Bailey High School, (most original photographs are unidentified, although identifying information can be found in the published article); a map of the path of the tornado through East Nashville; and graphs showing temperature, barometric pressure, wind and rain at the time of the tornado.
