A young girl named Miranda Montgomery has fallen in love with the "Nature Joe Animal Show," watching it every day and taking note of how Nature Joe helps lost and injured animals. One day, Miranda sees her own teacher, Mrs. Birdley, not in her classroom but in a grocery store. Certain that her teacher is lost and in need of help, Miranda sets her traps and lays her plans to capture Mrs. Birdley and return her to her classroom.
