Description
Rex Lowman's series of more than 200 practice paragraph tests are signed with pauses between each paragraph for self-testing of receptive sign language skills. The series provides good practice in reading fingerspelling. A minimum level of proficiency in Signed English is needed to begin the series. Each DVD is increasingly more difficult than the previous one.

An instructional sign language series that features a stuffed bear teaching and reviewing at least ten signs in each given category, in Pidgin Signed English. Each vocabulary list is followed by short practice sentences that incorporate the signs taught. Opportunities for review and practice are available throughout. Seven-year-old Mike Barry is a deaf son of deaf parents. He was interviewed at WBGU-TV as one of a variety of deaf models of ASL. He discusses his visits to an amusement park, his pets, toys, friends, and school. The accompanying book includes an English translation of Mike's signing, a sign language glossary, recommended student exercises, references, a vocabulary index, and a picture-dictionary of signs used on the videotape.
Description
This DVD is designed to lead the viewer through seven sections to improve and accelerate mastery of reading fingerspelled words as a whole unit, forming fingerspelled words fluidly and accurately, and anticipating fingerspelled words based on context. An accompanying booklet is available upon request. This is not a beginning level DVD.
